Welcome to the archived website of the Mathematical Biology Research Training Group (RTG) at NC State. While our NSF funding ended in July 2021, many of the activities continue under the auspices of the Biomathematics Graduate Program and individual research groups within the departments of mathematics and statistics.
Our fourth workshop on Parameter Estimation for Mechanistic Biological Models ran July 29-August 1st, 2019. Workshop homepage
Our interests are centered on mathematical modeling of biological systems and issues surrounding the confrontation of these models with real-world data. Mathematical and statistical questions of particular interest include parameter estimation, uncertainty quantification and experimental design. Biological systems of interest range from physiology through population biology.
Our NSF funding supported postdoctoral, graduate and undergraduate researchers. Ongoing postdoctoral opportunities exist with the mathematics department and individual research groups. Opportunities for graduate study can be found in the biomathematics, mathematics/applied mathematics and statistics graduate programs.
