Welcome to the Mathematical Biology Research Training Group (RTG) at NC State.
News: Workshop on Parameter Estimation and Uncertainty Quantification at NC State University, August 8-11 2014.
News: Nakeya Williams presents at the 2014 Joint Mathematics Meetings, Baltimore.
News: Course for Spring 2014: MA 797 Uncertainty Quantification, taught by Ralph Smith.
News: The National Science Foundation has awarded a $2.5 million grant in support of the group’s activities for the five year period beginning August 2013.
Our interests are centered on mathematical modeling of biological systems and issues surrounding the confrontation of these models with real-world data. Mathematical and statistical questions of particular interest include parameter estimation, uncertainty quantification and experimental design. Biological systems of interest range from physiology through population biology.
We have opportunities for support at the undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral levels. See our Open Positions page for more information.
(Please note that NSF regulations restrict funding to citizens, nationals, or permanent residents of the United States or its territories and possessions.)
