Tutorial Workshop on Parameter Estimation for Biological Models

NC State University, August 8-11, 2014

Co-organizers: Adam Mahdi, Mette Olufsen and Alun Lloyd.

Confirmed speakers: Joseph DiStefano III (UCLA), Marisa Eisenberg (University of Michigan), Johnny Ottesen (Roskilde University, Denmark), Adam Mahdi (University of Oxford), Andrea Arnold (Case Western/NC State), Tom Banks (NC State), Pierre Gremaud (NC State), Alun Lloyd (NC State), Nikki Meshkat (NC State) and Ralph Smith (NC State).

This workshop is aimed at graduate students (and others) who have an interest in confronting mathematical models with biological data. Tutorials will cover estimation of model parameters and associated uncertainties, parameter identifiability, and uncertainty quantification. Lectures will be accompanied by hands-on computer exercises.
